How much our life has changed! That small 5kg thing is
now the center of attraction. Life is slowly getting in terms with its new role
and we are enjoying every moment of it. The nappy changes are much easier than I
thought. Even those greenish black sticky things did not feel like shit. Things
like the changing colour (green to yellow) and texture (sticky to granular) of
her potty made us happy. Never thought that even shit can bring so much joy. Someone
rightly said, there is nothing bad in this world.
She is changing every day gifting us those precious ‘first’
moments. Slowly from a passive doll that could just eat, sleep and cry, she is
becoming human. She was 20 days old when smart lil Hridhima found out a new way
to wake up when she was hungry. She grabbed her hair, pulled it, and started
crying. Somewhat like Abhimunyu, she learned to grab things, but still had no
idea how to let go.
Her senses started to develop with time. We took her around
letting her smell different fragrances, hear different sounds, see different
things around. Amongst all the things our white ceiling is her favorite. She can
look at it all day making us wonder what’s so special about it. Soon she
realized that she has a pair of hands. From that moment onwards all she wanted
was to eat them. Those are her first toys, and what a wonderful toy they are, stupid
adults can ever understand. Apart from her hands and the white ceiling, she
also began to recognize us. She now looks directly into our eyes, follows our
movements, and wants to be with us. She hates being alone.
She also learned to talk. We talk a lot with her, read her
books. And she reciprocates.
"aaangaaa
aaagguuuuu aaaaiiiiii hnaaa"

"Take me in your
lap”.
Awww, that is so sweet. BTW, do you have a fan which has a glass in which she can see faint image of people moving? My brother used to look at the ceiling all the time till we discovered it was the fan, it has a small mirror in between. He used to look at the things in it.

Eeeee how cute!! I have been waiting for you to write since ages! Welcome back Sub :) What precious moments I agree. About the love for the ceiling I have a little story to tell :) When my younger brother was born I was 10. He used to, for most times of the day, look at the ceiling, eyes wide and flapping his hands at it and sometimes even chuckling. I used to wonder what he found so amusing in it until one day my grandmother told me that babies can see angels floating above that we can't. Angels circulating above the baby's face while he was lying down, angels that played with him and made him laugh. It left an impact on me and now whenever I see a baby staring at the ceiling (many babies I have seen do) I remember what my grandmother told me. Hridhima sees and plays with angels too I suppose :D otherwise what's so interesting in a white ceiling? hehe
ReplyDeleteso so cute. i wud also like to see her smiling.. :(
ReplyDeleteThe poop! HA HA I totally understand everything you wrote about. Just wait until she cuts teeth and has a major poop blow out! Mica had one when he was in his Exersaucer. He was jumping around happily in his own poop! Yuck I know, but it was funny to. I was cleaning poop out between his toes!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad she found her hands. Her feet will soon follow.
If she ever has trouble sleeping, put Mom's night shirt in her crib. They rely on scent a lot. That will calm her down in a hurry.
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI can understand your excitement in each and everything concerning your child, for I had gone through all these along with my husband, many years ago.
In your other blog I read how frustrating it is to be surrounded by self appointed advisers, not letting the new parents do things whether right or wrong in their own way, it is all very true. Sometimes people can be too over bearing.
But things would eventually settle down, and you and your child would totally understand each other.
Merry Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteDaddy daddy :) hehe..
